Commercial Estimator – £35,000–£45,000 per annum

About the Role:
Fleet Recruitment Ltd is supporting a highly respected UK manufacturer and supplier of high-quality modular wiring systems in the appointment of a Commercial Estimator to play a pivotal role in supporting the sales team through accurate, timely and commercially robust quotations. As a Commercial Estimator, you will ensure that detailed and competitive estimates are produced for projects across sectors including commercial, healthcare and residential. Your expertise will help to reduce tender turnaround times, remove bottlenecks and support the company’s continued success.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates and quotations for clients and prospective clients.
- Engage proactively with the sales team to obtain all necessary information and clarify any technical or commercial queries.
- Chase missing inputs from colleagues or external stakeholders to prevent delays in the estimating process.
- Maintain and update pricing databases, rate cards and cost libraries.
- Support contract negotiations by providing commercially sound and competitive figures.
- Work closely with internal teams to identify risks, opportunities and value engineering possibilities.
- Ensure estimates align with client requirements, standards and internal quality expectations.
About You
- Experience in commercial estimating, ideally within the electrical, construction or modular wiring sectors.
- Good understanding of building electrical wiring, cabling components and hardware is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to manage upwards and challenge when information is incomplete.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and work to tight deadlines.
- Proactive and solutions-focused with a keen eye for detail and commercial awareness.
