HGV Technician

We are seeking a qualified HGV Workshop Technician to join a consolidated team to maintain both a large internal fleet and the fleets of external clients. HGV Workshop Technician
Nottingham
£40,000 to £45,000 pa (dependent upon experience, skill set and qualification levels)
Our client is well known for delivering solution based services to a diverse client base of HGV operators. Much of the throughput is internal, servicing the owned fleet with a growing number of retail customers.
The Workshop team form an integral part of our clients overall business and are expected to help the shift run smoothly in a collaborative environment where the aim is to delight customers both internal and external.
Working Hours:
There are two shifts each with an average 45 hour week with overtime paid at time and a half.
Shift 1 (Early Shift) Monday to Friday 6am to 2:30pm with a 30 minute paid break and a 30 minute unpaid break and Saturday 6am to 11am with a 15 minute paid break.
Shift 2 (Late Shift) Monday to Friday 1pm to 10:30pm with a 30 minute paid break and a 30 minute unpaid break.

The role
In a nutshell, your job will be to work as part of a customer centric team, maintaining HGVs as a part of an wider business who's aim is provide 'brilliant maintenance' and customer satisfaction.
What are we looking for in you?

Someone who is able to build relationships, manage objectives, ensure process and procedure are fit for purpose and delivered against and manage quality control. Must haves that we want to see are:
- A truly customer centric attitude and a collaborative, analytical approach.
- Great communication and relationship building skills, both internal and external.
- The ability and discipline to achieve increased efficiency and standards.
- Experience of R2C.
- A technical qualification related to commercial vehicles, City and Guilds level 3, NVQ level 3, or equivelent.
- Current full driving license
- Good verbal and numerical reasoning skills
- Confidence in your own abilities
- To be an efficient, neat, and disciplined commercial vehicle technician
- Flexibility, being able to prioritise your own workload whilst supporting the team is key
- To be responsive and willing to learn, receive training, developing both yourself and those around you
- Excellent relationship skills with both colleagues and customers alike
- An understanding of the value of delivering great service to suppliers, colleagues, and customers
- The ability and motivation to work on your own initiative
- An HGV or Forklift Truck Licence (preferred but not essential)
