Business Development Manager – Daily Rental
Derby / South Yorkshire area (remote)
£45,000 plus uncapped commission
Are you an ambitious Business Development Manager with experience selling vehicle rental into fleet, SME or corporate customers? Do you enjoy building new business from scratch, opening doors and creating long-term customer relationships?
Fleet Recruitment is working exclusively with a well established vehicle solutions business to recruit a Business Development Manager to drive the expansion of its Daily Rental division.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a developing business area where you'll have the autonomy to build your own customer base while benefiting from the support of an experienced internal team.
The Role
This is a genuine new business position where you'll be responsible for identifying and winning customers requiring flexible vehicle rental solutions.
You'll target UK fleets, SMEs and corporate businesses, developing opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, referrals and relationship building. Whilst this is primarily a self-generated sales role, you'll also benefit from collaboration with an established Leasing Sales team who can introduce opportunities within their existing customer base.
The role is field based, with an expectation of attending the company's Sheffield headquarters at least once a week to work alongside colleagues and maintain strong internal relationships.
What You'll Be Doing
- Hunting and winning new business opportunities across the UK
- Selling Daily Rental vehicle solutions to fleet and SME customers
- Building and managing your own sales pipeline
- Meeting customers face-to-face throughout the UK
- Preparing proposals and negotiating commercial agreements
- Working alongside the Leasing Sales team to maximise cross-selling opportunities
- Achieving an annual gross margin target of £100,000
- Maintaining accurate CRM records and sales forecasts.
You'll be supported by a dedicated Sales Support team who manage invoicing, administration and vehicle return queries, allowing you to focus on what you do best, winning new business.
About You
You'll be an energetic, commercially driven sales professional who enjoys developing business and creating opportunities.
Ideally, you'll have experience within vehicle rental, leasing, contract hire or another fleet-related environment.
You'll also have:
- A proven track record of winning new business in the UK fleet market
- Experience selling to fleet operators, SMEs or corporate customers.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- A proactive and resilient approach.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
