£42,500 plus uncapped commission
Our client, a leading provider of vehicle fleet solutions, is a highly regarded, and hugely respected, company that is part of a business established over thirty years ago. To this day they are driven by the principles, ethics, and values instilled by their founder. They have an enviable reputation in their marketplace and their customer retention is outstanding.
Due to a realistic and sensible growth plan, they have tasked Fleet Recruitment in helping them find a talented Business Development Manager to sell outsourced fleet servicing, maintenance and repairs to businesses currently managing their own vehicles.

The Role
In a nutshell, your role will be to find and win new fleet management customers in the 100 to 1,500 fleet market. Organisations who can’t use contract hire or rental (perhaps due to the use of the vehicle) and who could benefit from the servicing discounts and economy of scale a leasing company can deliver.
You will need to:
- Create a sales strategy and the tactics you will use to get in front of prospective buyers
- Align objectives with buyers and use great consultancy to find pain, solve problems and add value
- Manage your prospect and sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasts
- Manage time effectively
- Achieve agreed, and sensible targets
About You
You will be the sort of person that loves the thrill of hunting and winning new accounts. You must have a really good knowledge of the UK fleet market and understand the benefits that outsourcing the management of vehicles to a leasing company can deliver. Proven experience selling services into businesses at boardroom level, and achieving targets, is essential.
Skills you will need to be successful:
- Experience of pure new business selling into UK fleets
- A tenacious can-do attitude driven by a powerful WHY
- Great diary and time management
- The acumen required to understand a customers’ problems and challenges and relate those to solutions you can provide
- The ability and discipline manage a sales pipeline
- The discipline to record activity and forecast your business accurately
- The acumen to know when to “do a deal” and when to walk away
- The ability to close business
- Customer management skills that build solid relationships, for the customer, for our client and for you
