Our client is a highly regarded, and hugely respected business that build bespoke light commercial vehicle conversions. Diverse and serving several specialist markets, they have quickly built a great reputation for both quality and service, and they are guided by the principles, ethics, and values instilled by their founder.
They are quickly building an enviable reputation in their marketplace.
They have a realistic and sensible growth plan and have tasked Fleet Recruitment to help them find a talented Business Development Manager to find incremental new Fleet business opportunities.

The Role
In a nutshell, your role will be to find opportunities and to win new end user fleet customers requiring light commercial vehicles to be fitted out. From welfare vans to Smart Repair vans, to Jetting and Hydraulic Hose vans and so much more, you’ll have a lot to offer LCV fleet operators with specialist needs.
You will need to:
- Create a sales strategy and deploy the right tactics to get in front of prospective buyers
- Meet key decision makers
- Align objectives with buyers and use great consultancy to find pain, solve problems and add value
- Manage your prospect and sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasts
- Manage time effectively
- Achieve agreed and sensible targets
About You
You will be the sort of person that loves the thrill of winning new accounts, gets a buzz from taking orders and who is consultative, organised and disciplined. You need to be somebody who is unafraid to put hard yards into achieving success and definitely somebody who loves the financial rewards that it brings.
Proven experience selling commercial vehicles, and a good understanding of why business require conversions is required.
We are looking for:
- Experience of pure new business B2B selling
- A tenacious can-do attitude driven by a powerful WHY
- Someone unafraid to pick up a phone and make things happen
- Great discipline and time management
- The acumen required to find and understand a customers’ problems and challenges and relate those to solutions you can provide
- The ability and discipline manage a sales pipeline
- The discipline to record activity and forecast your business accurately
- The acumen to know when to “do a deal” and when to walk away
- The ability to close business
- Customer management skills that build solid relationships, for the customer, for our client and for you
